| Cabin and Cabin Heater on the The SS KLONDIKE The Yukon paddle wheelers were pulled out of the water for the winter months, so the cabin heaters were only used on cool days. | |

| These pictures were taken in 1982 pictures of 3 WP & YR paddle wheelers. Only two still exist. The SS KENO & the SS KLONDIKE were built by the WP & YR owned BYN. CO shipyards in Whitehorse YT. The TUTSHI was built in Carcross YT by the BYN. CO. but no longer exists due to a fire. The SS KENO traveled under it’s own power from Whitehorse to Dawson City, & was then pulled into the river bank for display |

![]() | The headquarters and station of the White Pass & Yukon Railway in Skagway Alaska. Trains arrive and leave from the rear of the building. This railway runs only a short distance in US (Alaska) territory, so because most of its operation is in Canada, it operates under Canadian Railway rules and is under the jurisdiction of Transport Canada. The railway was originally formed to transport men, explosives and supplies to the Gold Rush, and still hauls some freight today, but mostly it’s a summer month tourist oriented railway. |
